Alternative Fuel and Hybrid Electric Vehicles
The Coalition
has compiled summary tables with information on currently available
and soon to be available AFVs and other "green" vehicles.
Information on future vehicles is the best information available to
date. The tables will be periodically updated and reposted to this
page. A brief summary of currently available (2006) alt-fuel and
hybrid vehicles is also provided on this page (prices are MSRPs
virtually base models with no discounts, rebates, incentives or
credits). Click the links to get the following summary tables:
Additional useful resources:
- Model
year 2007 AFVs: This chart
from the US Department of Energy lists all
available alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles for
model year 2007 on an easy-to-print
page.
- Similar tables to those
provided above for MY06 are available here: HEVs,
FFVs and CNG vehicles, diesel
vehicles and "relatively
green" conventional vehicles.
- Model
year 2006 AFVs: This chart
from the US Department of Energy lists all
available alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles for
model year 2006 on an easy-to-print
page.
- EPA's Green
Vehicle Guide rates environmental performance of vehicles
while they are in use. The website provides mileage information
as well as air pollution and greenhouse gas scores on all
vehicles. It also shows whether or not vehicles have earned
EPA's SmartWay or SmartWay Elite rankings.
- American Council for an Energy
Efficient Economy (ACEEE) produces a Green
Book on vehicles that ranks cars and trucks on their
environmental performance. There is a fee for the full book but
the highlights can be viewed on the website for free.
- DOE and EPA publish the Fuel
Economy website, which provides loads of information on fuel
use in vehicles including, obviously, fuel economy ratings for
all vehicles.
- Commercially
available alternative fuel light-duty vehicles:
The US Department of Energy (DOE) provides a searchable database for
light-duty vehicle specifications and dealer information.
- Vehicle
Buyer's Guide: Using
DOE's Vehicle Buyer's Guide, you can learn about
different technologies, view vehicle lists with pricing and
technical specifications, locate nearby alternative fuel stations,
contact a dealer or industry expert, learn about financial
incentives, and more.
